Toro’s 22280 ProLine Heavy Duty Mower is a machine designed to withstand the demanding conditions faced by professional gardeners and landscapers. Featuring a robust 6mm thick 53cm die-cast aluminium cutting deck and a commercial grade engine, this mower is ideal for tackling medium to large-sized areas of turf. It also comes equipped with several additional features to improve performance and cater to your every need, such as the blade brake clutch, long range fuel tank and variable speed propulsion system.

The 22280 offers a choice of options when it comes to grass disposal, featuring collection and recycling capabilities. For the collection function, this mower is equipped with a generously sized 77 litre capacity grassbag, ensuring that you won’t need to stop and empty it too often. The recycling option meanwhile involves the grass being cut and re-cut many times before being redistributed on the ground, breaking down to provide vital nutrients and moisture for the grass roots and encouraging the growth of a healthy green lawn.

Versatility is also offered with regard to the height of cut. This can be adjusted by the use of levers on the wheels, with heights ranging between 25mm and 114mm, preparing the mower for a wide variety of cutting conditions. Leaf shredding and collecting meanwhile is also possible if you use the mower on its top height setting.

The 22280’s variable speed propulsion system is powered by a strong and reliable 179cc Kawasaki 4-cycle FJ180 engine, allowing you to work at the speed you are most comfortable with, while starting the engine is made very simple by the recoil handle located within easy reach of the handlebar. This mower also comes fitted with an engine guard, protecting the engine from any debris on the lawn, while steel cable guards provide additional protection for the cables. The wheels meanwhile roll very easily and lightly on the turf thanks to their size and width, while their smooth-running ball bearings make for excellent manoeuvrability. Furthermore, this mower features a long range fuel tank with a 3.8 litre capacity, saving time on re-fuelling and allowing you to mow for longer periods of time; it also comes with a replaceable oil filter.

Thanks to its additional design features, the 22280 also offers safety, convenience and comfort to its operator. The Operator Presence Control lever, for example, is an excellent safety feature which allows you to stop the engine at any time, placed within easy reach by the handlebar. The blade brake clutch meanwhile does the opposite and stops the blade, allowing the engine to continue running only; this is particularly useful when you need to cross different terrain, for example a gravel driveway, or if you need to stop and empty the grassbag. Finally, the height-adjustable handlebar allows you to find the mowing position which is most comfortable for you.
