The brand new Mountfield 1736H lawn tractor has been designed using cutting edge engineering and top of the range components. A big step up from the previous model, the Mountfield 1736H now features a twin cylinder engine offering unrivalled power and is an absolute must if you wish to mow large areas or use light weight attachments, like tow-behind trailers or spreaders etc on a regular basis. Whether or not you’ve ever driven an automatic car you’ll soon feel the benefits of the ultra smooth hydrostatic transmission, which is very similar to the functions of an automatic car. Its forward and reverse speeds are infinitely variable - simply press or depress the correct pedal to go forwards or reverse. The manoeuvrability of this machine is quite frankly astounding, so much so, that we’re pretty confident once you’ve ridden a hydrostatic lawn tractor you won’t want to go back to a manual version!

The Mountfield 452 cc twin cylinder engine provides plenty of power and together with the 92cm cutter deck will ensure you get through cutting the grass to a perfect length in no time at all. The 7 heights of cut range from 25-80mm and ensure you get an even cut whatever the length of grass you started from. The audible alarm lets you know when you need to empty the collector, but with an ample 290 litre capacity this will hopefully need emptying less than you might think. The alarm prevents the chute from getting clogged up, a very handy feature of the Mountfield brand! And you don’t even need to get down from your seat to empty the grass collector, a handy lever can be pulled from the driving seat and hey presto you’re back to work.

For your comfort the seat is fully adjustable and has been designed with your comfort in mind. No tools are necessary to change the cutting height simply select your desired height using the convenient lever within arms reach - no need to stop or get off. The deck wash facility allows you to attach a hose to the snap-on connector, then simply turn on the water and engage the blades. Water will burst through and clean below the deck, no excuses now for for not keeping your tractor in tip top condition.

Mountfield take pride in making their machinery as versatile as possible and the twin cylinder engine 1736H lawn tractor is certainly no exception. It has been built primarily to collect the grass or rear discharge them but if the conditions are suitable it can also mulch and recycle the grass using the included mulch kit. Mulching grass is a great feature, it saves so much time it can be more than 30% quicker, there is no stopping work to drive to the tip to empty clippings, this results in significant fuel savings. Mulching the grass allows the clippings to be recycled, improving the soil as they decompose forming a natural fertiliser high in potash and nitrogen. You will notice a marked improvement in your grass as this fertiliser takes effect over the course of the cutting season. You may well ask “Will I see the mulched grass?” and the answer is “No!” Mulched clippings are blown down into the turf and are not noticeable provided the grass is cut regularly and only a maximum of 1/3 of the grass removed with each cut. Switching between collection or mulch modes is extremely simple and takes less than a minute; just remove the collector, insert the mulching plug into the discharge chute and replace the collector. To return to collection simply reverse the procedure. A tow bar is also included so you can attach a range of useful towed accessories such as a trailer, spreader, roller or aerator.
