Self-propelled to save time and effort, the LR53-THX Allroad Plus 4 benefits from high-quality engineering and some very good features, enhancing both performance and operator comfort, features like plastic engine brakes and traction levers for a more consistent and safe grip, or the rubber soft-grip on the handlebars enabling longer hours worked in comfort.

The generous 51 centimetre cutting deck will make sure that large areas can be covered easily and the fast spinning blade will make short work of most grass types, whether you ‘cut and collect’ with the rear mounted grass collector, ‘cut and side discharge’ using the included discharge deflector and opening the side channel, 'cut and drop' using the rear deflector or ‘cut and mulch’, cutting your cut and re-cut clippings into the lawn for that extra healthy, verdant green look.

Behind the power of the deck is the engine, a Honda GCV 160-A2, Air-cooled 4-stroke OHC with a net power output of 3.3kw @3600 rpm. Made with high-grade, precision engineered, components to reduce vibrations and lengthen engine life, it is fuel-efficient, produces a high output, is compact and is the lightest engine in its class.

The construction of the mower itself is just as rugged and hardwearing, the deck is steel, powder coated for protection against corrosion and a front bumper protects the deck from end on knocks. The wheels are rugged, with chunky moulded grips for good traction, higher rear wheels (11”) for stability, a clean, smooth run and great manoeuvrability.

Cutting flexibility is provided by the cutting height adjustment, controlled centrally by an ergonomic and easy to use handle. Six positions are available from 25 millimetres right up to 75.

When you are in rear collection mode, the easy-to-fit grass collector will hold anything up to 70 litres of clippings, so you are spending less time at the compost heap, shortening your working time. The collector is made of breathable fabric that works with the airflow created by the rotary blades, letting it through the bag and assisting collection. The free airflow reduces the chance of blockages and clumping and again saves time. The top of the collector is plastic to prevent dust rising up and affecting the operator in dry conditions and a grass-bag-full indicator saves time by making sure you never overfill and spill your cuttings.

Handlebars are foldable to facilitate easy storage and transport and an integrated carry-handle at the front enables the mower to be moved about with ease when not in use. The handlebars are also adjustable, to two positions, so you can work at a height to suit your frame, reducing the chance of back strain.
