Making it tick is a 5.5hp (163cc) Honda GX160 engine; a four-stroke, overhead-valve type power-pack that features a forged-steel crankshaft and a dual-element air-filter for durability; precision-engineered components for reduced noise and vibration; and an optimised valve overlap for superior fuel-efficiency. Automatic decompression means starting is almost effort-free.

The Efco AG50-H60 Professional Petrol Lawn Scarifier is equipped with a set of free-swinging, hardened-steel blades that are mounted on oversized ball-bearings so as to ensure season-after-season of unfailing reliability in the face of intensive use (the blades give an expansive 50cm working-width).

It’s built around a reinforced steel deck, so any accidental impact it might encounter won’t prove a problem; and it runs on ball-bearing mounted wheels that won’t stiffen-up over time, and which ensure smooth operation on rough ground.

Additional features include convenient single-lever blade-height adjustment; and space-saving fold-down handlebars.
